Web and Video

I think this will be the most helpful in my career as an elementary school teacher. I will be able to explain material in a fun video for children and hopefully they will pay attention. But for fun, I think I would like photoshop because it allows you to be more creative.

If I were to graduate tomorrow my chosen title would be Ms.Jaimes because I want to become a teacher.

Video Project

For our video project, we will be showing the struggles of being at RCHS as well as the rewards.

Capstone Presentation Reflection

I think my capstone presentation went well, I forgot a lot of things that I had to say but luckily my judge asked the right questions and I was able to hit all of the main points of my project. I was nervous at first, and I was one of the last people to get interviewed so I got even more nervous as time went by,  but it gave me time to prepare what I had to say. The interview was not what I expected because I expected harder questions and my judge was very easy to talk to. If I could do anything differently that day, I would have probably rehearsed with my friends and family more.

PSA

I liked the storyboard and how it was brought to life in the actual video. It was pretty inspirational, the storyboard itself was already interesting without even being animated. I thought the other videos were interesting because they made you think but the dentist one was pretty disturbing. I think the fact that it was disturbing made it stand out more though.

Capstone Video

My capstone video is going to be a aimed towards my website. It will show the different ways in which my website is helpful and I will add some words instead of talking along with background music. First I will show the website's front page where you will be able to see the options you have upon entering. I will then quickly glance over each tab and give the viewer a preview.

Liquify

Sharon just recently went through an extreme weight loss program. Congratulations Sharon, you lost 100 pounds!

Photoshop Video

I think the video on how celebrities use photoshop was really interesting. I wasn't very surprised because I've done a couple of essays on how women are portrayed in the media, I've watched a couple of videos on it as well and it's something that has really grabbed my attention. I think more videos should be made to get women's attention on this because I feel like this does affect our self-esteem way too often and maybe if we understood why photoshop is used so much on celebrities we wouldn't be so self conscious of our own bodies.

Adam Savage TED Talk

I thought the TED talk was really interesting. It made me think about how people who were curious enough about something went out and found answers. It isn't really about how smart you are but more about how driven you are and how much you want to find the answer.

Look and Feel Issues

a) My presentation will be serious.
b) I will use bright friendly colors like blue, orange, yellow, and red.
c) My site is persuasive because it is easy to understand and is easy for anyone to use.
d) I make my point understood by describing what my website does on the title page.
e) I am intending to create a resource teachers and students can use to learn beyond the classroom.

Thoughts on The Gap by Ira Glass

I think Ira Glass gave some very helpful advice in his video. He basically said that as a beginner your work will not be as great as you think it is or want it to be, but you should not quit. Working more will make your work better, because what you start off with is taste and as long as you have that, you can be better.

Thoughts on Web 2.0

I thought the video was really interesting because it used the web to explain the web itself. I like how they personified the machine by saying that it was us because it is essentially what we put into it. I think it was a very important message and I like how it was executed.

Internet Mind Reader Video Response

I think the video of the mind reader was really interesting. It made me think of what kind of information I had on Facebook and how it could be used against me. I was surprised at how much the man knew about the people, but I was not worried or scared because I have not updated my status in a year, when I first made my profile. Although I do not think I have any valuable information on the internet as of right now, I will definitely be careful in the future.

a. The goal of my project is to reach out to students who have different learning techniques through the addition of tablets in the classroom.
b. As our nation becomes more technologically advanced, it is important for children to get a head start and become comfortable with technology at a young age. This will help them in their future careers and it will also enable them to find several solutions to a single problem.
c. These goals fit with my career objective because I want to become an elementary school teacher, and I will be able to make a technology-based curriculum that I can use in the future.
d. My project gives back to society because I will be able to offer a solution to a problem that I witness in my volunteering.
e. The curriculum will teach kids different ways in which they can solve a problem and they will learn which way they retain information best. The community will benefit because the more students learn, the more efficient our community will be in the future.
